Back to Insan School for the Children

In the Class
In the Class

Dear Friends,

Today is the International Children’s Day.

And I am happy to announce  that in October 2015, Insan School has opened 2 classes for children, who have not been able to register in Lebanese schools. In these classes, boys and girls study languages: Arabic, English, French and Mathematics and they also have some sports classes, such as Basket ball, which is a very good way of developing team spirit.

This year, Lebanese public schools have opened afternoon shifts for 200.000 Syrian refugees, an increase compared to last year's. But this is still insufficient to accommodate all refugee and migrant children. The UNHCR estimates that there are more than 500.000 Syrian children living in Lebanon, in addition to 20.000 children of migrant workers.

The children at Insan School come mainly from Iraq and Syria, and have fled the war, the violence, and the massacres, in their respective countries. Insan wishes to open a 3rd class, if you want to continue to support us, please contact us at insan@insanlb.org or (+961) 03 42 41 66.

On Behalf of Insan Association, I would like to thank you for being a part of Insan School and for your trust in Insan’s projects.

Warm Regards,

Insan Team

Summer Camp July-August

Break Dance
Break Dance

September 2015

Dear Friends,

Summer Camp started in July for children and youths from the neighboorhood, and this year it is around 40 boys and girls who participated in the daily activities.

English classes were offered to all children, with 3 different levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced classes. Moreover, children were taking dance classes with a professional from Ecuador, and some artistic workshops and sport classes were also provided.

Most of the children who came to the Summer Camp are refugees, they have experienced trauma and distress and have left their country of origin in fear. Consequently, our social worker team offered psycho-social support to help girls and boys to express their feelings.

With your donation, Insan has been able to offer to more children access to education, psycho-social support, purchase needed equipment, provide children free transportation to the school and serve a daily lunch.

The summer camp has just finished (at the end of August) and it is now time to prepare the School for the return of the children to Insan School programs. Continue to support the most vulnerable children, by clicking on  Insan / GlobalGiving

On behalf of the entire team, I sincerely thank you for your generosity, for your solidarity with the children of Insan School, and for your support to Insan’s projects. See you soon at Insan School.

Warm regards,

Insan Team
