Mission

For nearly two and a half centuries, St. George's Society of New York (SGSNY) has dedicated itself to improving the lives of disadvantaged New Yorkers. SGSNY was formed in 1770 as a membership-driven charitable organization with the intent of providing assistance to British expatriates and their families as they immigrated from Great Britain to the United States. These services ranged from providing coal for families during the winter, free hospital care at St. Luke's Hospital in New York, and assistance finding employment during economic uncertainty, among many other critical services.
