Celebrating the SGSNY Class of 2026!

By Charlotte Johannesen | Program & Membership Coordinator

We are thrilled to be celebrating our 2025/26 cohort of SGSNY Scholars who have earned degrees across 24 diverse fields of study, spanning from Nursing and Healthcare Policy to Mechanical Engineering and Construction.

Their hard work, brilliance, and resilience throughout their academic journeys have officially paid off. Many are already stepping into full-time roles, while others are looking forward to their next ambitious steps.

We owe a massive thank-you to our Scholars for their hard work and commitment, and an equally heartfelt thank-you to the SGSNY community. Thanks to the generosity of members and donors, we were able to provide highly beneficial enrichment programs this year, including our Orientation Session, Scholar Reception, and tailored Career Workshops.

The impact of this financial support on the lives of our recipients is evident from the feedback we received from them:

Althea Jean, Healthcare Policy and Management: "My experience as an SGSNY scholar has been inspirational, as it not only provides support financially, but also the opportunity to build self and flourish in my future endeavors. You are also given the chance to meet like-minded individuals and potentially create lifetime bonds, which I believe is another substantial benefit".

Harish Sharma, Construction Management: "[The scholarship] allowed me to quit my part time job that I kept to help me and my family pay for tuition and books, so I will be forever grateful to this organization for that.”

Looking ahead for our new cohort

We are also pleased to announce that we are going to be welcoming our new cohort of 2026/27 Scholars! Starting in the Fall, we will be providing support to 24 new students from a variety of educational disciplines.

I look forward to sharing images and stories from our new scholars as we get to know them and learn about the impact of your gift on their lives.
