We are working hard to find more donations for more families. We have a long waiting list and many families are in desperate need of a healthy cook stove. In the meantime we did a little research project to evaluate our cook stove program and have come to some great results. Families with healthy cook stoves spend about 70% less firewood to cook and therefore have less expenses buying the wood and more quality time with their families. Burns are basically eliminated and people don´t suffer from health issues related to cooking on open fire any more. We are grateful for all your support!

Update from Guatemala
By Denise Lorenz - Development Director
We are happy to report that the beneficiarys are reporting no more smoke or health issues in their homes.
We encountered very happy families during our follow up visit that gave us feedback on the newly obtained stoves.
Thanks to the safely vented stoves they no longer live in toxic environments or have to spend a lot of money on buying firewood as these stoves use so much less.
We are looking forward to support many more families in the future and making a positive impact on their health, economics and the environment.
We highly appreciate your support. Especially during these uncertain times, we know that many people are struggeling with their own issues, related to this terrible worldwide pandemic.
With your donations we have been able to install two new stoves in the area of San Martin Jilotepeque and with them change two families lifes for the better. Each family received a training and assistance for the right installment of their healthy chapina stove. They now can cook safely without being exposed to toxic smoke or fear for their children getting burned when being too close to the open fire.
We hope to be able to install many more in the near future. Thank you again for your help. Stay safe everyone!
