Guatemala Housing Alliance

Guatemala Housing Alliance builds secure homes with/for families in extreme poverty in the highlands of Guatemala while forging alliances with other non-profits tasked with addressing related components of poverty, among them education, health, employment and family planning.
Change the lives of 100 Mayan Families

This project will build 100 cement floors for Mayan families in the highlands of Guatemala who currently live on dirt that seasonally turns to mud. Cement floors quantitatively promote health and education, giving children a better chance to succeed. 80% of indigenous Guatemalans live in poverty, over 20% existing on less than $1/day. project reportread updates from the field
Eco-friendly building for the poor

We at Guatemala Housing Alliance build homes for and with families living in extreme poverty in the highlands. Our homes have always provided security, but our new hybrid homes offer BEAUTY, also, and are much more earth friendly than the ubiquitous cement block building. These homes, simple 15 x 20', 2 room structures, cost us about $3000 each to build...so little for such an impact. We can't do it without compassionate donor-partners. project reportread updates from the field
From hovel to home

This project will build a modest home to replace a dilapidated shack. The photo here is a sample of a home needing replacement. Rain enters through both the roof and the walls, variously made of plastic, rotted metal and cornstalks. Families have no choice but to sleep each night on the dirt or mud floor. Guatemala Housing Alliance needs your help to build healthy and secure homes. project reportread updates from the field
Feed children's bodies, minds and souls Pasajquim

This project will create a rich learning environment for 150 children during the 2 months of school vacation while providing a healthy meal daily in this community rife with malnutrition. project reportread updates from the field
