American Foundation for Children with AIDS

The American Foundation for Children with AIDS (AFCA) is a non-profit organization providing critical comprehensive services to infected and affected HIV+ children and their caregivers. Our programs are efficient, promoting self-reliance and sustainability. Since 2005, in collaboration with our in-country partners, we have served tens of thousands of families in some of the most underserved and marginalized communities in Africa. Our areas of impact include: medical support, livelihoods, educational support and emergency relief.
Children Will Eat Healthfully Thanks to Seeds

AIDS orphans are among the most forgotten children and the hungriest. 3,750 youth aged 12-24 will be trained in conservation farming, giving them skills needed to grow nutritious vegetables in arid areas. As the children learn how to plant, harvest and produce their food, they learn valuable life and gardening skills so that they can fend for themselves and can be marketable due to their competencies as gardeners. This project will be life-saving. project reportread updates from the field

A Truck for the Road to Self-reliance

Our greenhouses in Kenya are doing incredibly well and they are producing tomatoes, peppers and a variety of other vegetables to, not only feed the children in our programs, but also to feed the community in general. We have run into an issue, though - we need a reliable truck to cart the veggies from the farm to the city where the veggies are sold and distributed. project reportread updates from the field

The pigs will be delivered to them, will be vaccinated, and will have proper housing to live in.
