Fruit Tree 101 in Hawai'i

Aloha friends,

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is excited to announce our 2018 Island of Hawai'i Fruti Tree 101 orchard donations happening throughout the month of September!

We have an amazing lineup of participating schools who are all focused on bringing fresh fruit and exciting lessons using the new trees to thier students. FTPF staff have been busy visiting the schools here on the island, travelling from Kona to the Kohala coast and down into lower Puna to plan the orchards and select trees that will create bounitiful school orchards. We will be planting a beautiful variety of trees specifically adapted for Hawai'i Island's unique climates, including ulu (breadfruit), avocado, mango, lychee, mountain apple, cacao, rambutan, carambola (starfruit), many types of citrus, jaboticaba, cinnamon, clove, and many, many more!

If you are on the islands and would like to join us at one of the local Fruit Tree 101 planting events, please email our Programs Manager at lizzy@ftpf.org for dates/times. We'd love to have our generous supporters help plant the fruit trees they helped bring to fruition!

Mahalo nui loa (thank you very much)

Trees for Tribes 2019

Dear friends,

We are so grateful for your support of our Trees for Tribes program, and 2018 has been a very fruitful year indeed!

While at the moment our team is busy planting trees in other parts of the world (currently we are writing from the Island of Hawai'i where we have plans to work with the Hawaiian Homelands on a demonstration orchard at the Maku'u Farmer's Market in the Puna District), we are also actively planning for our 2019 Trees for Tribes projects. We are anticipating to plant and distribute fruit trees across several Native American Reservations and at tribal homes and schools in Minnesota, Michigan, and Arizona. Stay tuned for updates in the coming months...

Thank you for your belief that fruit trees can be the answer to so many pressing issues on Native lands, and putting your faith in the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to bring this program to those tribes who need it the most.

Fruit Trees for Uganda 2019

Uganda 2018
Uganda 2018

Dear friends of FTPF,

We are so grateful for your support of our program to bring fruit trees to the people of Uganda. Over the past five years, we have been able to establish a nursery to grow tens of thousands of fruit trees and plant and distribute those trees to schools, farmers, and families all across the country.

While at the moment our team is busy planting trees in other parts of the world, we are actively planning for year six in Uganda in 2019. We will continue our work to alliviate hunger, poor nutrition, deforestation, and poverty through the planting of fruit trees in this amazing yet struggling nation.

Thanks you for your belief that fruit trees can be the answer to so many of Ugandas's pressing issues, and putting your faith in the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to bring this program to those Ugandans who need it the most.
