"We're excited to welcome these 70 nonprofits to the GlobalGiving Community," said Mari Kuraishi, President and Co-Founder of GlobalGiving. "We believe that good ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and we look forward to supporting our new partners as they work to create change around the world. We're committed to providing tools, training, and support as they learn, grow and become more effective."
The new projects on GlobalGiving range from improving the education landscape in Uganda, to providing child-friendly legal services for Palestinian children, to strengthening the very fabric of the nonprofit sector in Ecuador.
Each of the new GlobalGiving partners has committed to providing donors regular reports about how they use their funds. They also have access to the full suite of tools offered to GlobalGiving partners, including opportunities for referrals to GlobalGiving's corporate partners.
"We had done crowdfunding in the past, but saw the model of global giving and fell in love! We really admired the style of the organization, and felt as though it modeled the way that we worked on a global scale. We are excited by the challenge of the time limit, number of donors, and money raised requirements, and think that it will push us to meet our goals. We are also huge fans of the training availability and having a friendly face to turn to for questions!"
- Kelly Mitchell from Fundacion Hearts of Gold.
