Wild tigers are at an all time low. As few as 3,200 exist in the wild today, down from 100,000 a hundred years ago. Only 7% of historic tiger habitat still contains tigers. Consumer demand for tiger parts poses the largest threat to tiger survival. Tigers are being hunted to extinction by poachers.
But there is hope. Tigers can breed quickly and successfully if we provide them with protected habitat and ample prey.
WWF works to save tigers across their habitat - from India and Indonesia all the way to the Russian Far East. WWF focuses its activities on antipoaching efforts in critical tiger sites, and funds from this project will support that work. Together we can save wild tigers for future generations.
