Our main task is the rescue of food to avoid waste and the fight against food insecurity with the delivery of biweekly food baskets and scholarships for the training of our beneficiaries and nutrition and self-sufficiency projects. We support people who do not have availability in quantity and quality of food that can meet the nutritional requirements of people. Our facilities are located in the city of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico with address in Rio Panuco #400, Colonia Ferrocarrilera, C.P. 82013
According to a recent study (CONEVAL 2016), 22.7% of the inhabitants of Sinaloa live in a food shortage. Only in the municipality of Mazatlan do we find that there are more than 71 million people who do not have guaranteed food per day, which have negative effects on health conditions and other repercussions on social, academic and economic aspects. This occurs so much in the inhabitants of the rural area as in the urban area in the municipalities of the south of Sinaloa.
Our institution rescues food from different companies in the agricultural and commercial sector through its own means, and distributes them to families who, after Estudio Socio Nutricio, have confirmed their lack of food in Mazatlan and southern Sinaloa. The food is delivered biweekly, and the aim is to give a sense of dignity to the beneficiaries, in addition to seeking self-sufficiency, through training grants in CECATI 132.
The project will reduce food insecurity to 8700 people per month, helping them to acquire biweekly healthy food through our institution, which will contribute to the health and well-being of their families. In addition, training grants will help families become self-sufficient and benefit the economy of their community.
