Your Donation Helped a Student Gain Admission to University
The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia manages zakat funds and donations from the general public through the BAZNAS Cendekia School (SCB). Alhamdulillah, this year, 54 students—a percentage of the total 2026 graduating class—were successfully admitted to various public universities (PTN) through various new student admission selection processes.
In addition to high school students, SCB also accepts middle school students. This school is completely free of charge. BAZNAS Cendekia School was established in January 2017. Initially, this educational institution had only 40 sponsored students from the regions of East Nusa Tenggara, West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. BAZNAS Cendekia School (SCB) has a vision to become a model Islamic school that builds character and optimizes students’ potential.
SCB focuses on Islamic education, academics, entrepreneurship, as well as leadership and organization. SCB also provides non-formal education scholarships in the form of two-year tahfidz programs, as well as junior and senior high school education for 64 students each year. To date, SCB students come from across 25 provinces in Indonesia.
The educational program is one of the pillars designed to help children living below the poverty line achieve a more decent standard of living and become muzakki—those who give donations.
