Progress Report of "Zakat Can Empower Poor Parents in Bangladesh" Project of GlobalGiving
Period: April-June,2024
Dear Friends,
Dakbhanga Bangladesh (DBD) has been operating two primary schools in the remote Ramu sub-district of Cox's Bazar district, Bangladesh, since 1998 as part of a primary education project for underprivileged children, thanks to generous contributors like you. The project students receive ECD to Grade V education at schools and with limited support for their secondary and postsecondary education.
Zakat project has been helping DBD's poor and needy school-age children of the the school catchment area of Dakbahnga Education Project. These projects rely on the collection of Zakat from potential contributors from the staff of Dakbhanga Bangladesh & friends from abroad. The project's objective is to improve the low income families of whose children enrolled in our project schools.
In the program areas funded by our initiative, we are committed to supporting low-income families so they may let their children finish primary school and pursue further education until they turn eighteen. But, Dakbhanga is resource-poor, therefore in order to carry on with the activities, the parents need the urgent assistance of the global humanitarian communityand partially from the local. It is not easy to run the initiative without your cordial supports from the friends of abroad.
In order to maintain initiaves, Dakbhanga Bangladesh (DBD) must distribute the Zakat support to the selected school community of two primary schools and concern two feeder schools with ECD funding. In order to assist deserving parents in achieving their objective of funding their children's education up to a specific secured level so they can build their future with the prospect of a better livelihood, we are looking for additional contributors who will regular donate Zakat.
