Dear Valued Sponsors,
Dakbhanga Bangladesh (DBD) is implementing primary education program through operating two primary schools since 1998 in the remote area of Ramu sub-district of Cox's Bazar district, Bangladesh to educate underprivileged children with the support of generous sponsors like you. The schools educates the children from ECD to Grade V with a minimum support to higher education of the project students.
DBD started a new initiative from 2022 named “Zakat Can Empower Poor Parents in Bangladesh” depends on the Zakat collection from the potential donors of home and abroad. It is for developing the socio economic status of the poor or ultra-poor with school going children in their families. We are committed to support the poor parents who are in economic hardship and bound to engage their children in child labor due to their poor income status. We planned to support 35 families of remote hilly area of Ramu, Cox's Bazar under this program considering their needs on priority basis. We are providing them training and technical support to raise their incomes through different IGA. Some of the parents involved with agricultural activities, some with home-based poultry or any other home-based income generation activities to run their family hand to mouth. Recently we provided three goats to three families with poor income status of our school catchment area.
To continue the support to the prioritized parents/families to continue their children’s education at least up to age 18, the parents need the support of the enthusiastic peoples from the humanitarian community of the world as Dakbhanga have no capacity to continue the full support from their own fund. DBD must use the Zakat support fund for the targeted school community with proper monitoring and documentation. We are looking for new donors who will give zakat recurrently to the deserving parents to achieve their goal of their children’s education and future.
