The workshop "Manitos creadoras, social y cultural", located in Pedro Aguirre Cerda neighborhood of Curanilahue, Chile, was severely affected by recent flooding. This workshop, which has been operating for 3 years, brings together 30 women from the community who create beautiful handmade products, including knitting, sewing, painting workshops, and more. These activities have not only been a source of income for these women but have also contributed to cultural enrichment and community support in Curanilahue.
However, the flooding caused significant damage, destroying all sewing machines, materials, fabrics, and other essential equipment that the workshop relies on to function. As a result, the workshop has been unable to continue its operations and has been cut off from providing its important artistic and cultural contributions to the community.
Current Situation
At present, we are in the process of raising the remaining funds needed to restore the workshop's full operations. Thanks to the generosity of the donors who have already contributed, we have been able to make significant progress toward our funding goal. However, we still need funds to fully replace the lost materials and equipment.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to those who have already supported this cause. Your contributions are greatly appreciated, and we are hopeful that with continued support, we will be able to restore the workshop and empower these 30 women to continue making a positive impact in their community.
The project is currently awaiting additional funds to cover the remaining costs. Once the funds are fully secured, we will be able to replace the damaged equipment and materials, and the workshop will resume its valuable work. The long-term impact of this project will be crucial for both the economic independence of these women and the cultural enrichment of Curanilahue.
We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support, and we look forward to keeping everyone updated on the progress of this important project.
