In line with the vision of our founder Bill T. Jones, New York Live Arts commissions, produces, & presents multidisciplinary performances in our 20,000-square-foot facility, which houses a 184-seat theater & two dance studio spaces. Any donations going to this campaign would be supporting our 4 core dance presenting programs of: 1) The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company (BTJ/AZ) 2) Live Feed Program 3) Randjelovic/Stryker Resident Commissioned Artist (RCA) Program, and 4) Fresh Tracks Program
As arts funding with institutions becomes more and more scarce, we at New York Live Arts as a part of our mission to serve artists always go above and beyond in making sure we're giving equitable wages and fees for any and all artists we serve and present in our space. Through our New Works Creation program our goal is to bridge that gap, so that we can continue to be a resource for artists to present their work, while paying them the equitable wages they deserve.
By putting this project together, anyone within Global Giving who donates toward this project is helping us in our mission to serve multidisciplinary artists, movement based artists, and especially underserved artists who come from LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and other marginalized communities, as those are the types of individuals that make up our core audience and demographic we serve. Any/all donations going towards this project will help us continue to pay our artists equitable wages.
If this project gets approved the potential long-term impact this project can make on our organization is this will expose our organization to a whole new community of donors, that depending on much we're able to raise through this campaign will allow us to expand on the amounts of artists we can accept for our Fresh Track, Live Feed, and RCA programs, and increase wages/residency fees for our BTJ/AZ company members, Fresh Track artists, Live Feed artists, and RCA artists.
