It is heartening to see how the relationships we have been weaving throughout the territories we are committed to protecting are taking root, beginning to shape a generous landscape—one abundant in ideas, willpower, laughter, embraces, and utopias. The people we have connected with over these past few months have reminded us of the importance of collectivity and the power that lies in dreaming together.
At times, when we work for what is just and loving, we feel weary from struggling against selfish interests that dream small dreams where not all of us belong. It is thanks to our local communities and our global community—you, our donors, the people who believe in the importance of our work—that we manage to continue day by day, fighting for what we know is vital: life, water, and the right to inhabit healthy territories.
During this recent stage of this beautiful project, we have dedicated ourselves to visiting and placing our hands at the service of the communities that form our network. Alongside our volunteers, we have supported our network in maintaining their nurseries, planting trees, sowing food, and enjoying the meeting of hearts that dream big—dreams where there is space for all forms of life, not just the human one.
This flow of visitors has been the perfect showcase for the fruits of community labor. Thanks to this, we have also succeeded in marketing the agroforestry products developed alongside the communities of our Viveros Hermanos Network. Our selection of chocolates, baskets, mango wines, and tropical fruits has been excellently received, allowing families to generate direct income. These resources translate into tangible well-being and strengthen the autonomy of the territories we protect.
