ISKCON wants to construct a Youth Welfare Centre at Varanasi to expand its mission of supporting academic education, skill development & healthy food to needy students at Varanasi, India. Equipped with all modern amenities, the center will cater to the children of poor laborers in local region.
Young Indians today are grappling with anxiety, loneliness, depression & unhealthy habits. Over the last five years, more than 40,000 students committed suicide in India. Lack of value education and over-emphasis by our society on external success are two main reasons for depression among students. Youths need proper career counseling, healthy lifestyle, and most importantly - character education.
The envisioned Youth Welfare Center will provide facilities like Seminar Halls to conduct Deaddiction Seminars, a Mega Kitchen for distributing Free Food to the needy children & youth, modern classrooms for academic classes, an Incubation Center for budding entrepreneurs, Recording Studio for online courses, Meditation Space, etc.
This Facility will help students overcome depression and develop a positive outlook towards life and society by the power of Value Education, Meditation, Arts & Culture & hygienic food. This will also facilitate young minds to nurture their talents and fuel their dreams of making it into successful careers.
