VolunQueers is the volunteer-led media initiative of Youth Voices Count (YVC) that empowers young LGBTQIA+, trans, non-binary, and other marginalized communities across Asia and the Pacific to tell their own stories and drive social change. The initiative cultivates a network of volunteers, advocates, creatives, and community leaders who collaborate to produce inclusive, accessible, and community-centered media that promotes human rights, health equity, and social justice.
By combining digital storytelling, multimedia content creation, creative advocacy, and knowledge translation, VolunQueers amplifies lived experiences, challenges stigma and misinformation, and strengthens community-led advocacy. The initiative produces a diverse range of content including podcasts, videos, interviews, educational resources, digital campaigns, and research-based materials to make complex issues more engaging and accessible to broader audiences.
Through collaboration, mentorship, and community participation, the initiative contributes to building a sustainable youth-led media movement where marginalized voices are empowered to shape public narratives, influence policy, and foster solidarity across the Asia-Pacific region.
