This project provides high-quality digital literacy, software coding, and freelance entrepreneurship training to unemployed youth in rural and peri-urban Kenya. By setting up community tech hubs with reliable internet and computers, we will equip young people with the modern tech skills needed to access global online jobs, break the cycle of poverty, and drive local digital innovation.
Burundi is one of the world's most population-dense and climate-vulnerable nations, with over 80% of its population relying on subsistence agriculture. Soil erosion, unpredictable rainfall patterns, and lack of access to high-quality seeds or modern farming techniques heavily impact crop yields. Furthermore, rural community members, especially women, lack access to the credit or capital needed to start small businesses, leaving families highly vulnerable to economic shocks and malnutrition.
We are partnering directly with local colline (hill) leaders and existing community groups in Burundi to deliver targeted relief and long-term development: Climate-Smart Agriculture Training: Teaching techniques like agroforestry, composting, and intercropping to protect the hilly terrain from erosion and boost crop yields. Seed & Tool Distribution: Supplying high-yield, drought-resistant seeds (beans, maize, sweet potatoes) and fundamental farming tools to vulnerable households.
By investing directly in the grassroots structures of Burundi, this project will: Improve food security and dietary diversity for over [Insert Number, e.g., 800] rural families. Restore agricultural land fertility through eco-friendly farming practices. Establish financially independent, self-sustaining women-led savings cooperatives that outlive the duration of the grant.
