Strengthening of the Pedagogical Monitor Training

With the aim of strengthening the pedagogical training program for monitors (the program Youth singers transform lives by teaching others), a reorganization process was undertaken during the first quarter of the year. As a result, three advanced training modules were developed, each focused on key thematic areas:

  • The Body as an Instrument
Body awareness, rhythm and movement, musical stimulation.

  • Pass the Voice
Vocal warm-up techniques, ear training, spoken voice development.

  • Music Theory
Fundamentals of music theory, Sirenaica repertoire, conducting, and music software applications.

The purpose of this pedagogical restructuring was to enhance the training process with innovative tools that foster participants’ vocation and streamline the delivery of content. It is essential to have educators who are not only musically and pedagogically qualified, but also sensitive, creative, and innovative — as they will be responsible for educating the children who are, or will become, part of the foundation’s choirs.

Each module includes both theoretical and practical assessments to ensure the program’s effectiveness. Upon successful completion, participants receive an official certification.

Currently, the program is in the recruitment phase for new candidates interested in beginning the “training of trainers” process. Simultaneously, previous monitors will continue strengthening their skills and engaging in field practice.

Notably, two monitors who have been part of the program for four to five years are now prepared to lead an initial training group, under the guidance and mentorship of a senior instructor.

Testimonial – Training Process
Carlos – 28 years old
Mechanical Engineer

"Although I haven’t undergone the same training process as many of the children and young people at Sirenaica, I truly feel that being a monitor is a way to reflect that learning and pass it on to other children or youth who are walking this musical path. It carries a huge responsibility and a strong commitment that should not be taken lightly.
Being part of this foundation through the monitor program is, for me, a way of giving back the knowledge I’ve acquired."

Testimonial – Training Process
Andrea – 13 years old
Colibrí Choir

"What I hope to get from the classes is to learn how to play the piano, to sing well, and to become a teacher in the future. What I like most is that it’s a free space where I can express myself without fear of being judged."
