Preparing for Peace Camp this August
2011 Participants reflect on the day's lessons
Preparations for Peace Camp are well underway! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have been able to move ahead in planning our Peace Camp logistics. Camp is scheduled to take place for a week in late August at Hotel Sedra, which is located on the Una River in the beautiful town of Cazin in Northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina. The owner of the Hotel believes in our work so much that he has booked our group even as we are still in the process of fundraising the full amount to implement the project.
CIM’s staff recently sent out the invitations to apply to Peace Camp – we’ve reached out to communities all across Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially those most in need of reconciliation. Through this year’s camp, we’ll be able to bring together diverse ethnicities and help them to see how building a peaceful future together is possible.
With the program fully designed by our experienced Co-Directors, this year’s Camp is sure to be an incredible learning experience for everyone involved. Already, we have a group of eight additional international participants from Great Britain who want to witness reconciliation firsthand. With these exciting additions, we’ll have at least thirty youth attending peace camp and bringing back knowledge and skills for resolving conflicts peacefully to their respective home communities.
