Dear LMF Team of Heroes,
I am delighted to share a progress update on our Youth Farming to Eliminate Hunger project as we enter the next quarter, March 2025.
Our young farm students continue to follow the modified approach, applying the techniques they have learned while fostering the project’s growth. They are working diligently, embracing the art of dividing farmland into mini-farms, and implementing a “divide and conquer” strategy—harvesting and replanting vegetables quarterly across different mini-farms. This approach keeps them engaged, excited, and continuously learning as they await scheduled instruction sessions on seed multiplication, crop rotation, and other specialized techniques from State Agricultural Extension officers and instructors.
These dedicated young farmers take great pride in showcasing their robust harvest from their mini Ugu (Pumpkin) farm while preparing the following crops for planting:
They are especially proud to be using garden egg, pepper, and Ugu seeds from last year’s harvest for this planting season.
In anticipation of the early April rains, they have begun tilling the soil and preparing the land for the next planting cycle. During the dry season, they took proactive steps by preparing homemade manure and pesticides to support sustainable farming practices. Additionally, they will be reinforcing stakes for legumes and strengthening weak sections of the mini-farm boundary fencing.
As our youth work diligently toward a successful 2025, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you—our donors and supporters. A special thank you to those who found time in their busy schedules last year to donate and secure matching funds for our youth!
Your Support Matters Now More Than Ever
We are excited to announce that GlobalGiving matching funds are available again through the Little-by-Little campaign (March 25–28, 2025). During this period, all donations between $10 and $50 will be matched at 50% while matching funds last.
Would you consider donating $50 at 9:00 AM on March 25, 2025, to help our Youth Farming Project win the much-needed matching funds? Please also spread the word to your family and friends!
Beyond food production, mini-farming has a profound impact on both physical and mental well-being. To support their basic needs, we provide our young farmers with monthly stipends, which are made possible by your generosity. Thank you for making a difference in their lives.
Sustained Giving for Greater Impact
We kindly ask you to consider becoming a monthly donor. Monthly contributions not only ensure a steady source of funds throughout the year but also qualify for a one-time 100% match after four months. Any amount—no matter how small—goes a long way in helping our youth achieve success.
Consistent support is key to sustaining the impact of this project. Please also share this initiative with your network and encourage them to support this meaningful cause.
Once again, thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity. You are the heart of LMF’s Team of Heroes, and our youth are forever grateful.
May you remain blessed always—Amen!
We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of this project. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, please feel free to reach out, and we will be happy to assist.
With gratitude,
