Empowering Youth through Life Skills

In Sierra Leone, the poverty profile affirms that young people, especially between the ages of 15 and 35 are among the poorest of the poor. Many of them are illiterate, school dropouts, unemployed and idle, living in deplorable conditions in and around the Western Rural District.

In a bid to help curb these challenges, AID Sierra Leone have been providing regular entrepreneurship training programs to help youth become self-reliant and also contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities. 

In addition to existing resources, we have been able to use funds raised through the Global Giving platform to provide skills training for an additional 5 youths within the Wellington community in Freetown.

We continue to thank our partners and friends who donated their hard-earned cash towards this project through the GlobalGiving platform. Your precious donations contributed greatly in helping youths in Sierra Leone rise above extreme poverty and also be able to secure much needed entrepreneurship skills.

AID Sierra Leone continues to support poor and unemployed youths who are victims of many unfortunate circumstances, the very awkward situation in which these youths find themselves need immediate special attention, most certainly if given an opportunity by offering them special training for jobs and some skills to enable them become self-reliant.
