Dear donor,
Greetings from Fundación Acción Joven! We are very pleased to share with you the positive results we have obtained with the Youth Employability Program during this past few months!
We launched the 1st edition of the Career Fair for Young Women, a collaborative work effort between the Embassy of Australia, Parque La Libertad / CETAV, Ideas en Acción, ICD, Konrad Group, Universidades CR and Fundación Acción Joven. We exceeded our goal impacting more than 115 young women in contexts of social vulnerability, most of them are about to graduate from one of the four public high schools invited to this event.
This fair functioned as a closing event for the Young Women Employability Program (PEM) developed for the first time from May to July of 2018, in which 80 young women from four public high school participated in 4 workshops, 1 company visit and in the Employability Camp (during half-year vacations).
By the end of this year, a total of 18 public high schools have participated in the Youth Employability Program, resulting in more than 815 tenth and eleventh grade students benefiting from the program activities: participatory workshops, talks, interview drills and company visits.
We are very proud to have reached our yearly goal and look forward to start a new year full of initiatives to support students in the development of the job skills that allows them to experience firsthand the connection between education and professional success.
This wouldn´t have been possible without your generous support and willingness to collaborate with our organization. On behalf of our organization and of Costa Rican youth, we thank you for investing in creating more opportunities for young people and in building a more just and inclusive society.
Kind regards,
