Located in the coastal southern part of Nigeria and known as the Nation's "Land of Promise", Akwa Ibom State produced 422 young change agents from 14 public secondaryschools across the State, who have been equipped by the Youth Development Training Programme to drive positive change in their communities.

Today, 2,560 students of Ikpe Annang Comprehensive School in Akwa Ibom State have access to a sick bay facility within the school premises which provides first aid treatments. This was made possible by the youth beneficiaries of the YDTP in Ikpe Annang School who partnered with the Local Government Primary Health Care department to provide a nurse, drug supllies and equipment to the sick bay.

In another community; Asuna-Etinan in Akwa Ibom State, the YDTP beneficiaries of Community Secondary School Asunan-Etinan in partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross Society pioneered the trainining of 400 members of the Asuna-Etinan dsitrcit on administering first aid treatments and institiuted the first Red Cross support club in the area.

These young leaders who have graduated from the programme have left an indelible mark in their communities, implementing 13 change projects and impacting the lives of over 6,596 people on Akwa Ibom state.

Many more communities in Akwa Ibom state have benefited from the impact of the Youth Development Training Programme. The effort and dedication of these 422 change agents on the lives of over 6,596 people lend credence to the fact that a small group of young people can be empowered to change the world.
