Since last week, kids of all ages have been flocking to Youth Center Inspira for Border Partners' 11th annual summer school! This is the second year that we were able to host the summer school programming in the Youth Center, and with its facilities and ample space to host, we were able to welcome a record-number of participants - around 100 kids have been attending each day.
The school break is often a time for kids to play, grow, learn, and connect - but they need safe spaces with responsible adults to supervise and guide them. Our summer school takes the burden off of working parents while providing a collective, community-oriented space to make the most of kids' free time.
We have been busy beating the desert heat with plenty of water games, the occasional pool party, dancing, and creative, skill-building classes fit for different age groups. Over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to provide an outlet for play, social connection, and learning to kids, so that they can return to classes feeling refreshed and - it is in our name, after all - inspired.
We are grateful for your support in making the youth center into the community pillar that it has become over the past year. We hope to provide this integral service to adolescents and their families for years to come. A donation of any amount helps us keep this project running - whether it is $3 to provide a healthy snack for a child, or $500 to pay the utility bill at the end of the month and keep the lights on. Thank you for your continued interest, and as always, feel free to visit our website and subscribe to our organization's newsletter for more regular updates!
