Project Deactivation Report
The James Dean Byrd Foundation respectfully requests the deactivation of this scholarship project due to overlap with another active educational support initiative currently managed through our organization.
During the past year, the Foundation transitioned the daily operations and administration of Escuela Los Algarrobos in Canoa, Ecuador, to the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil (JBG), a long-established charitable organization in Ecuador. This transition was made to strengthen long-term educational sustainability, expand resources available to students, and provide enhanced institutional support for the school community.
As part of this organizational restructuring, the James Dean Byrd Foundation has shifted its primary focus toward centralized scholarship assistance and student support programs. We determined that maintaining multiple GlobalGiving projects with similar scholarship objectives could create confusion for donors and duplicate administrative and fundraising efforts.
To improve clarity, accountability, and efficiency, we are consolidating scholarship fundraising and educational assistance activities into one primary project.
