Break Down Barriers and Empower Girls on September 16

Dear Y-WE Supporter,

You made an AMAZING impact this summer. Thanks to you, 40 girls and 20 women mentors built confidence and honed writing skills at Y-WE Write. Program participants worked with professional writers from the Hedgebrook Institute. Many girls stepped out of their comfort zones by going camping for the first time. This could not have happened without your support! 90% of our girls need scholarships to take part in our program.

As summer fades into fall, we are gearing up for Y-WE Lead, our 8-month school-year program. This year, we will offer four learning communities (or tracks). Girls will dive deep into an area of interest: connection (nature, health, and writing), collaboration (theater, performance, and teamwork), creativity (visual art and crafts), and communication (written, spoken, and visual media).

You can guarantee that all girls have the opportunity to explore these themes. Growing girls need nutritious fuel. To ensure all girls can access, we serve healthy meals and snacks. It costs $100 to provides one girl healthy lunches and snacks for the entire Y-WE LEAD program, breaking down a major barrier.

Wednesday, September 16 is the last bonus day of the year. We need to raise $1,000 to provide healthy meals for 10 girls this yearGlobal Giving will match every donation at 30% (until matching funds run out).

What if you can't make a $100 gift or have more to give? Every $10 you contribute funds a healthy meal and snacks for one girl in our program.

The bonus day kicks off 6:00 am (PST). Matching funds will run out fast, so make your gift early to get the match. What a beautiful way to start the day! Ensuring a girl gets a healthy meal while you eat your breakfast. That warm fuzzy feeling will carry you through dinner time.

Thank you for breaking down barriers to empowerment!
