Founded by business people and opinion leaders who are aware of the importance of entrepreneurship and believe that it is the key to change, Turkish Entrepreneurship foundation works with youth to advance the entrepreneurship culture and to make entrepreneurship a career alternative among young people.A country without any development in entrepreneurship is a country that has punished itself by standing on one foot. We would be really happy if we could make a little contribution to spreading it.
In order to develop and extend the culture of entrepreneurship throughout Turkey and make entrepreneurship a new career path for young people, Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation is.implementing the unique "Fellow Program" for university students. Entrepreneurship is not a big part of the culture in Turkey due to the education system.Universities provide the right incubation environment for entrepreneurship. We also believe that giveback is very important and we want people to giveback.
Fellows are given a scholarship and many opportunities to help them become the next generation of high impact entrepreneurs and young leaders. They meet their role models, become a part of a local and a global network, learn how to giveback to the community, go to global entrepreneurship conferences in Berlin, London, Tel Aviv. We encourage them to create a change in the world. If they have a startup idea, we equip them to pursue their business ideas and motivate them throughout the process.
As the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation,we would like to spread the entrepreneurship culture all around Turkey and we aim entrepreneurship to become another career alternative among university students. And we believe that economy and the country will change with entrepreneurship, inspiration and giving back.We got 61000 applications from 181 universities in 2016 and today we have a total of 100 fellows selected-50 women, 50 men.29 of them have established their own technology/social startups.
