The new urban generation is growing up in an increasingly complex world with big challenges. At the same time young people take the streets or fight for their future in other ways. We need a new generation city makers who find new solutions to urban challenges. Technology won't be enough. A new way of thinking and doing is essential. YCM prepares all youngsters with the right skills to create a better future, starting today.
Growing up in a chaotic world, needing to deal with a future at risk is a big challenge for young people. Climate anxiety is a big issue amongst youngsters, and the corona-virus is yet another trigger that has a serious impact on the mental health of our next generation. And in Rosario, 60% of youngsters are living in poverty and have no ownership of their future. A different approach to empower youngsters is required to equip them with the right skills for such complexity
The YCM program combines tools to help youngsters rethink their present and future and start shaping tomorrow. Emotional intelligence and self-knowledge are key when you want to create change. Together we examine our way of thinking, reflect on our behaviour and tap into the creative power of imagination that makes human beings such a special species. Change can only happen when you do. We inspire youngsters by showing best practices and projects, share our tools for change and experiment
The project will reach 80 youngsters in Rosario in the coming year, and will escalate nationally in 2023-2025. The skills will provide with a new way of thinking, new tools and a mindset so youngsters will be able to participate on the shaping of their future in the city, reinforcing health and well being.
