Thank you for your support of this proect, I'm writing to share some updates on ActionAid's response to the war on Ukraine.
ActionAid’s Ukraine response has been ongoing since March 2022 and has evolved from an initial focus on neighbouring countries into a longer-term program combining humanitarian assistance, recovery and development. The response, now led by a national team of around 20 members, has been streamlined from 38 national partners to 16 to enable a more focused and locally grounded approach. Current humanitarian assistance spans frontline and conflict-affected areas, including food and hygiene support, emergency shelter repairs, evacuation and mobility assistance, winter preparedness, and protection services for women and girls at risk of or surviving GBV, older people and people with disabilities.
Alongside immediate relief, ActionAid is investing in recovery, resilience and locally led development across Ukraine. This includes psychological and psychosocial support, housing restoration, livelihoods and skills development, community-building activities, youth and women’s leadership, GBV case management, and capacity strengthening for local organizations and service providers. The long-term regional presence will focus on Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Moldova, supported by strategic partnerships across the four countries, while Armenia and Georgia remain important for regional coordination. Sustained funding will be critical to maintain humanitarian assistance while strengthening local movements, partners and community resilience for longer-term impact.
Our work is far from over and your genersotiy has powered so much of what we have been able to do. Please continue to support these efforts, and share this project with anyone you think might be interested.
Thank you.
