The family of our patient Mateus had to restart their story after the boy's diagnosis. At the age of 3, Mateus had to move from his hometown, Rio Grande do Norte, to Sao Paulo. “Mateus was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 3 and it was at GRAACC that we found a path to a cure, but we had to leave our lives in Rio Grande do Norte behind”, explains Lídia, his mother.
It took almost three years of treatment, but the change was worth it. Today, at the age of 9, Mateus is cured. “I am very grateful to GRAACC. The service is excellent. You only really know how it is when it happens with you family. It's an experience that cannot be measured.”, says Lídia.
With the change of state, the family rebuilt their life in Sao Paulo and built a company. “We started from scratch in Sao Paulo, but we are very pleased to be able to contribute to GRAACC through our company. We are donors, and even though no amount pays what has been given to us, because it is priceless, our company has a goal of always donating to GRAACC”, says Lídia, getting emotional.
Like Mateus, thousands of children yearn for their healing every year in our hospital. With your support, we can offer hope, and humanized and quality treatment, so that they can celebrate more and more victories. Thank you very much!
