Dear friends,
Your support has helped us begin sharing Yo (Love Is a Rebellious Bird) with he world, & we are so grateful. October has been a beautiful whirlwind of premieres, opening night film presentations, and award wins that have brought us to 16 festivals in five countries on four continents. We also had a special hometown screening, right in Yo's backyard, at the Carmel International Film Festival. Yo’s four children, Peter, Kathrin, Tinni, and Carrie, all joined us for a very special Q&A.
It feels so amazing to have people from all over the world falling in love with Yo, and audience members have been reaching out with beautiful notes like this:
“...your film healed my heart and soul. Thank you so much for this work, intelligence and honesty, and bravo! Vive l’art, vive le cinéma, Vive Yo!”
We are sharing our love back with you all!

What’s next: Yo is going on tour, and we’d love your help
We’re planning a 12-city tour for Yo, and it’s not your typical film release. We want to bring people together to celebrate friendship and remember how special it is to watch a movie in a room full of other people.
It starts with a few big marquee events. Then we’ll team up with universities, grassroots groups, and independent arthouse theaters so communities can host Yo themselves. In a few cities, we are pairing screenings with art installations and community events. Here is some of what’s already on the calendar:
We’re raising $25,000 to make this tour happen. Your gift will cover:
You can give directly right here on our GlobalGiving project page. Every donation, big or small, gets Yo in front of more people. And if you’d love to host a screening in your community or have ideas for partnership, just reach out to us here: https://www.theyofilm.org/contact
Thank you for supporting us every step of the way.
With love and gratitude,
Anna & Banker
