Recent Work of YiLight

By Yan Zhang | Executive Director

1. Launch of the “Social Organization Compliance Glossary Package”

In May 2025, YiLight released the “Social Organization Compliance Glossary Package” after several months of curation. This package, dedicated to compliance for social organizations, brings together key legal and management concepts in the public-welfare sector—such as charitable purpose, scope of operations, and board governance—into a single, professional reference. It offers social organizations a one-stop compliance guide to help them fully understand regulatory requirements and ensure lawful operations. The introduction of this glossary package represents a significant advance in YiLight’s capability to deliver precise, expert public-welfare compliance knowledge and further enhances the platform’s service offerings.

2. Updating Nonprofit-Related Laws and Regulations in YiLight website

3. Enhancing Compliance and Public Engagement in the Public Welfare Sector

YiLight has established a dynamic policy-response mechanism supported by a professional legal research team that continuously monitors changes in public-welfare policies and regulations. Our team conducts frequent reviews and updates of the legal database. To date, the website’s repository contains 1,531 statutory provisions covering areas such as social-organization compliance, Charity Law compliance, donation compliance, and volunteer-service compliance. We leverage multiple channels—including our WeChat official account and the YiLight website—to build a systematic public-welfare knowledge dissemination network. Through thematic series such as “YiLight Talks,” presented in accessible formats like articles and comics, we educate the public on core subjects including philanthropic philosophy, donation procedures, and compliance essentials. By coupling these efforts with interactive, event-driven science-popularization activities, we continuously deepen public understanding of and engagement with the public-welfare sector, fostering a societal environment in which everyone is informed about, and supportive of, charitable causes.

4. Developing YiLight Public Welfare Map

YiLight is currently developing a new initiative—the "Public Welfare Map," a project designed around the concept of “discovering public welfare around you.” Our goal is to integrate various public welfare resources through technology and build a visualized platform that enables donors, volunteers, and nonprofit organizations to easily access relevant information and use platform functions based on their individual needs. The project team is actively developing and testing core features to ensure the platform can efficiently aggregate and display charitable resources. At the same time, we aim to leverage AI-driven content generation and information tagging technologies, allowing nonprofit organizations to more easily present their activities and prepare for fundraising.

Recently, the team has focused on improving the platform’s user-friendliness and initiating efforts to gather resources from multiple stakeholders. The foundational infrastructure of the platform has been completed, and we are now entering the testing phase to evaluate usability and user experience. In the upcoming stage, the development team will continue refining the platform’s overall functionalities and actively test the user interface design. A limited-scale user testing phase is planned in the future to gather direct user feedback, which will inform further optimization of the final release version.
