Hello GlobalGiving Community!
Today's update is a fun one. The Yes to Life project also works with indigenous youth who live in the indigenous lands of Maracanaú, outside of the major city of Fortaleza where the Mental Health Movement is headquartered.
The Yes to Life project recently took these indigenous youth on a field trip to the Dragão do Mar Cultural Center in Fortaleza. The focus of the trip was to visit the cultural center's planetarium and learn about indigenous and western astronomy and cosmology. Yes to Life even organized a session for the kids with visual disabilities, called The Sounds of the Cosmic Ocean, to ensure their participation. Yes to Life aims to foster children's sense of belonging and dignity and celebrating these children's indigenous culture is integral to that mission.
We put together a short video of the field trip which you can watch here. Please like and share with others to help us spread the word of the power of Yes to Life.
Muito obrigada,
