For YAR Flanders, the annual report is more than just a formality.
It is a creative document in words and images that offers our stakeholders a glimpse behind the scenes and the figures. This allows you to discover what we want to convey as an organization, as well as who supports our organization: from professional and volunteer staff to business partners.
We open the annual report with this introduction:
Language is everything. We use it to convey knowledge. We exchange thoughts with it. We make contact with it. We express our dreams in it. We put our goals into words with it. Everything is language.
Language is also the building block of our programs: shared language as the glue that holds us together and drives us. So we asked our staff to come up with a word for every letter of the alphabet.
Not a random word, but one that has meaning in our context. A word that expresses what matters to us – and to you as a member of our network.
That is why our annual report starts with the 26 letters of the alphabet. From letters to words that, in turn, form sentences. This annual report is not a lengthy document, but a concise representation of what matters. In it, you, as a YAR youth, as a volunteer, as a partner, or as another stakeholder, play an indispensable role.
On behalf of the entire YAR team: thank you for helping to write our story. And to help build a warm, solidary society in which no young person is left behind.
