Throughout the Delaware valley, the state of Pennsylvania, and across the nation thousands and thousands of children begin school unprepared to learn. Their schools are ill equipped and the teachers are ill prepared to have them catch up.
At least half of them will never finish school. Many of the ones that do will simply be socially promoted and a few will actually graduate and go to college..The achievemnt gap begins at home and can end there.
20 years ago we distributed our first computer to a family living in one of the most drug/poverty/violence ridden communities imaginable. That computer enabled Ivan Colon to be prepared for school, graduate high school, and now college.
This but one of the over 70,000 kids our programs have had and impact on, through the over 70,000 computers we have distributed..
Our goal this summer is to raise $150,000 for our summer programs where we will expand out efforts and distribute another 500 computers.
We have 10 teens we will hire to help us accomplish our mission.
