Around the country thousands and thousands of children in elementary school can not do math or read proficiently. Most teachers are not trained in how poverty and stress affect the brain and how to transform this condition. Most disadvantaged kids start school with a 75% vocabulary/ experiential deficits. They have no foundation in math and do not connect to symbolic math. They also have no exposure to music or foreign languages already appreciated by wealthier peers. Make a difference!
