Altadena’s Recovery Continues: From Relief to
Rebuilding Today, more than a year after the devastating Eaton Fire, many families in Altadena are still living through the realities of recovery.
Thousands remain affected by displacement, insurance disputes, rising rebuilding costs, and the challenge of restoring businesses and homes that were lost.
While rebuilding permits are increasing and construction is becoming more visible across the community, many residents continue to face financial uncertainty and an uphill road back to normal life.
SmartAID’s “Back to Work” Program has focused on one simple goal: helping residents regain stability through employment, skills development, and income generating opportunities. By supporting residents with laptops and plotter technical hardware and software many small business have been able to recover.
Across Altadena, there are growing signs of progress. Neighbors are rebuilding together, businesses are reopening, and community led recovery efforts continue to strengthen local resilience. Recovery remains a long journey, but the determination of Altadena’s residents is stronger than ever.
SmartAID remains committed to standing alongside the community helping families get back to work, rebuild livelihoods, and restore hope for the future.
