American INSIGHT's 2015 Free Speech Film Festival provides a beacon of hope to individuals around the world who seek freedom of expression in repressive societies. Our mission is to provide an apolitical online framework to practice, promote, and preserve the principles of free speech and the rule of law, through the power of film and social media; and to establish a vehicle of communications for youth around the globe.
Youth possess the power to effect social and political change through new and unprecedented communication tools. However, they live in countries that have neither the historical context nor the political infrastructure to enable democracy to grow and flourish, much less any outlets for free speech films to be heard.
American INSIGHT's 2015 Free Speech Film Festival and Free Speech Award Ceremony provides a focused, socially acceptable online outlet for audiences to understand what free speech really means.
