Support U&I at the World 10K Run

by U&I

U&I has over 15 Learning Centers across 5 cities. These Learning Centers help keep students in school and provide a healthy community that encourages them to believe in themselves as they strive to achieve their dreams! The World 10K Run is Bangalore's premier running event with over 25,000 participants from all walks of life. We are running to raise awareness and funds to help educate over 600 underprivileged children across India. Help support these dreams!

For hundreds of underprivileged children in India, finding a job that pays well is close to impossible because they lack the skills required. Knowing English can increase their employability substantially. Also hundreds of mentally challenged children are abandoned by their family and left in state care for the rest of their life. Though the state provides basic food & shelter, the boys lack the needed special education & skills necessary to live an independent & self sufficiency.

With twenty three classes a week, in 12 education based Learning Centers catering to over 600 students across the city, U&I helps increase the employability of women, children and youth from lesser privileged backgrounds with courses in English, tuitions and life skills. At U&I Care, our vision is to transform institutional care in our country. U&I assists in the care and rehabilitation of 85 mentally challenged boys in the Institute of Mentally Handicapped Children.

Long-Term Impact

U&I teach hopes to expand to 10 cities by the end of the year and U&I teach hopes to have a fully functioning special school.
