At the culmination of the VIII World Quinua Congress in Potosi, Bolivia in April of this year, the Organizing Committee invited Mushuk Yuyay to host the IX World Quinua Congress in 2025. This will take place at the Mushuk Yuyay headquarters Canar, Ecuador. This Congress will include field demonstrations, presentations by experts, cultural events, and an exchange of ideas and knowledge. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mushuk Yuyay to showcase the impact and importance of the work they do.
The agricultural association, Mushuk Yuyay, was sellected to host the IX World Quinua Congress. This requires extensive preparation and expense. This Congress will address the problem of lack of publicity for their products and limited markets. It will also address the issues of motivating farmers to plant more quinua, developing new quinua products, and attracting investors.
Hosting this Quinua Congress will result in greater investment, more agricultural production, new product development, improved markets.
Long term, this program will improve the economy of the Province of Canar, slow emigration, provide food secuity, and improve nutrition, as well as provide employment.
