Undiagnosed Hepatitis Leads to Late Treatment

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you for your support toward the World Hepatitis Day: Free Screenings & Vaccine project. Your contribution shows concern for people living with undetected hepatitis. However, the donations received so far are not enough to begin the planned outreach, and more support is needed.

Across many communities, viral hepatitis remains undetected for years because people do not have access to testing or lack awareness of the disease. Many only discover their condition after serious liver damage has already occurred.

Without early screening and vaccination, hepatitis can lead to liver cirrhosis, cancer, and preventable loss of life. Fear of stigma and limited access to services continue to delay care.

This project is designed to provide free rapid testing for Hepatitis B and C, on-the-spot counseling, vaccination, and referral for treatment through pop-up clinics on July 28, World Hepatitis Day.

With the right support, more people can know their status early, receive protection, and access treatment before complications arise.

We are grateful for the support already received and remain hopeful that additional contributions will make it possible to carry out this life-saving outreach.

Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
Project Leader
