Workplace Abuse Continue to Affect employees

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your support of the Workspace Mental Health Training for Civil Servants project. Your generosity helps shine a light on challenges that many workers experience but rarely discuss openly.

In conversations with workers across public offices, one issue continues to emerge repeatedly: many employees are struggling with workplace pressure, emotional exhaustion, harassment, and other forms of mistreatment, yet few know where to seek help or how to respond. Fear of stigma and fear of possible consequences often keep people silent.

Although donations have been received for this project, the amount available is still not enough to begin implementation. Additional support is needed before we can organize the planned training sessions and educational activities.

The project is intended to reach 5,000 civil servants across public institutions in Abuja. Through practical training sessions, participants will learn how to identify signs of stress, burnout, workplace abuse, and mental strain. They will also receive guidance on available support options, reporting channels, and healthy coping methods that can be applied in daily work life.

Many workplaces still lack opportunities for staff to discuss these concerns in a safe setting. As a result, problems that could be addressed early are allowed to grow, affecting productivity, attendance, workplace relationships, and personal wellbeing.

We remain grateful for the support received so far and hopeful that additional donations will allow us to move forward with this important initiative. Creating healthier work environments begins with awareness, knowledge, and access to the right information.

Thank you for standing with workers whose wellbeing is often overlooked. We look forward to sharing future updates when implementation becomes possible.

With appreciation,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
