This project empowers young people and emerging professionals in Sierra Leone through practical workforce development and skills training. From tailoring, catering, and entrepreneurship to computer literacy and artificial intelligence (AI), Develop Africa helps individuals gain the knowledge and confidence to pursue better opportunities. Our newest initiative, The Multiplied Professional, introduces hands-on AI training to help participants work more efficiently and thrive in a changing economy.
Many young people and professionals in Sierra Leone lack access to practical vocational training, digital literacy, and career development opportunities, limiting their ability to earn a living and advance. As artificial intelligence transforms workplaces worldwide, a new skills gap is emerging. Without affordable, hands-on AI training and guidance, many risk being left behind, unable to use tools that could improve their productivity, employment prospects, and economic independence.
Develop Africa empowers Sierra Leoneans through vocational training, computer literacy, mentoring, and entrepreneurship. Our new two-day Multiplied Professional AI course teaches participants to write emails, prepare reports, summarize documents, and improve workplace productivity. Donor support makes this training accessible to those who cannot afford it. Our broader programs also equip trainees with marketable skills and resources to pursue employment or start businesses.
Our goal is to help Sierra Leoneans become confident, skilled, and economically self-sufficient. By combining vocational training with emerging digital and AI skills, Develop Africa prepares individuals for today's workforce and tomorrow's opportunities. Participants can apply their knowledge in employment, entrepreneurship, nonprofit organizations, public service, and their communities. These investments foster greater productivity, sustainable livelihoods, and stronger local economies.
