To our wonderful supporters,
In this time of changing seasons and global uncertainty, FOECOE co-directors, Jesca and Eliza, are leaning into the shift from dry to rainy season in Tanzania as an opportunity for assessment, reflection, and creativity. Just as the rains renew the land, this period offers space for the Women's EARTH Project team to take stock of their journey—to celebrate milestones, acknowledge challenges, and reimagine how to best serve the community women of Tanzania’s Southern Highlands. Recent election-related riots have added layers of complexity and disruption, yet the team remains steadfast in their commitment to safety, community connection, and forward momentum.
Across the globe, projects like the Women's EARTH Initiative, which center around gender equity, health, and environmental resilience, are facing growing funding challenges. With fluctuating donor landscapes and fewer international aid opportunities, sustaining long-term, community-based programs requires ingenuity and adaptability. Yet Jesca and Eliza, and their partners at EcoVet Global, continue to find ways forward, grounded in the resourcefulness and optimism that define both their leadership and the women they work alongside.
The women of the Southern Highlands are no strangers to uncertainty. They navigate the unpredictability of climate, crop yields, and livelihood security with courage and collaboration, drawing strength from their strong bonds of community and shared purpose. Their resilience fuels innovation, ultimately transforming challenges into opportunities and inspiring the team to continue this important work.
As FOECOE moves forward, we do so with immense gratitude to the donors and partners who believe in the power of women-led change. Your continued support sustains this work through uncertain times and helps keep the spirit of creativity, solidarity, and hope alive in every season.
With much appreciation,
Kate and the FOECOE / EcoVet Global Teams
