We have had volunteers from several companies visit us, who have supported us at the restoration site by collecting plastic waste which is washed away by the rains, collecting around 500 pounds of plastic which were delivered to the garbage collection car and preventing it from These decompose in the ecosystem and these microplastics can reach fish, crabs and other organisms that serve as food for nearby communities.
We have also planted around 900 mangrove seedlings which we have developed in our nurseries. This will allow the forest to grow again, providing shelter for the species that use this ecosystem, which is very important for both the environment and humans.
