Young people are changing the world today, creating the reality of tomorrow. Supported by CHIME FOR CHANGE, the Women Deliver Young Leaders Program connects outstanding young advocates with the platforms, the people, and the resources that can amplify their influence on a larger scale. With an emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and rights, Women Deliver elevates the work of young people taking a stand for gender equality.
Today's generation of young people is the largest in history. Half of the world's population today - over 2.5 billion people - is under 30, and most are living in developing countries and in urban areas. 1.2 billion of those are adolescents ages 10-19. Their choices and opportunities will define the present and future of our world. Any efforts to achieve gender equity and eliminate poverty relies on their meaningful engagement in the policies and programs that impact their lives and communities.
A leading and award-winning youth leadership program worldwide, Women Deliver provides a combination of training, mentoring, small grants, and support to maximize opportunities for young people to advocate for their health, rights, and gender equality. Every two years, Women Deliver selects 300 more young people and tracks and documents the program impact through results-based management. An alumni program allows the Young Leaders to continue their work with support from Women Deliver.
The Women Deliver Young Leaders Program is an investment in solutions to root problems, led by trained and highly capable advocates who are committed to making long-term impact and driving lasting change. Relatively small investments in youth can have transformative and catalytic effects. Young Leaders' efforts have allowed them to influence systemic and normative changes within their communities and beyond- creating a ripple effect that extends beyond any individual young person.
