Dear Friends and Supporters,
Fall is the season of change, and change is upon us at WC4E! As we celebrate the graduation of Cohort 3 and prepare to welcome a new group of changemakers, join us in reflecting on the past few months of growth and celebration.
This summer, Cohort 3 Fellows were busy planning the 2026 Women in Education Conference. Thanks to their hard work, the event was a smashing success! With over 80 guests in attendance, the day was filled with meaningful dialogue, new connections, and community-building. Participants engaged in sessions and workshops including Shaping Safe Spaces for Equitable, Inclusive Education, GESI in Action: Creating Safe Spaces that Amplify Girls' Voices and Participation, Intentional Mentoring and Mentor Appreciation, and Creating Digital Safe Spaces: Protecting Girls from Online Harassment While Building Confidence and Digital Presence. Fellows also had the opportunity to present their grassroots initiatives and their proudest achievements throughout their Fellowships. Here are a few examples:
Suhuyini’s Proudest Moment:
“I led a Menstrual Hygiene Day campaign that reached 200 adolescent girls with menstrual health education and dignity kits. The initiative helped break the stigma surrounding menstruation, increased girls’ knowledge of menstrual hygiene management, and supported them to stay in school with confidence.”
Kezia’s Proudest Moment:
“I have expanded For the Future (FTF)’s impact to more than 9,000 children, young people, and families, established a presence in the United States and Nigeria, strengthened strategic partnerships, and began developing scalable solutions to improve learning outcomes for children in underserved public schools.”
Felicia’s Proudest Moment:
“My proudest achievement has been transforming learning from a chore into a joy that keeps girls in school and makes them leaders. My deeper pride is our Beyond the Book learning model which builds rural girls in their academic journeys to become self advocates and leaders. Seeing shy girls who once sat at the back of the class now stepping beyond their comfort zones to vie for leadership positions in their schools as class prefects is an achievement that reminds me to keep impacting lives.”
The exhibition of Fellows’ impact was particularly meaningful for all of us at WC4E. Seeing their growth and their pride reminds us of what our program is all about. At the end of the conference, we held a graduation ceremony for Cohort 3! As always, it was bittersweet, but thanks to the strength of the Alumnae Network, we know our new alums won’t be far away!
Reflecting on the conference, it is a perfect example of the power of the Fellowship. When our Fellows join together in community, their impact extends beyond WC4E, building a broader network of changemakers fighting for girls’ education and women's empowerment. Every year, as we welcome new Fellows, Alumnae, and community partners, we are strengthening the web of leaders committed to our cause. Thank you for being a part of that web.
In the coming months, our community will continue to grow! We are preparing to welcome the 4th Cohort of WC4E Fellows, and we cannot wait to introduce you! Stay tuned for the launch of this new group of fabulous changemakers.
Kind Regards,
Constance and the WC4E Team
