The "Winter Wish" campaign for 2020/2021, will be targeting the underserved in Lebanon of all nationalities in various Lebanese regions, to make their wishes come true and provide them with warmth by providing necessities, the most important of which are: food parcels, blankets, mattresses, heating fuel, winter clothes, and tent tarpaulins which refugees depend on to protect their tents from water.

Challenge

The poor in Lebanon are preparing for the return of the winter season which is a nightmare that drowns Lebanon in floods and waste. It seems for this category of people like they are destined to live with the minimum dignity in an economically collapsed country whose currency has lost about 80 percent of its value and does not have the proper infrastructure to protect them from the wrath of storms and snow. Add to Lebanon's list of challenges for this year a global pandemic and Beirut Blast.

Solution

As in every year, URDA has launched its winter campaign as the winter season approaches. The "Winter Wish" campaign for 2020/2021, will be targeting the underserved in Lebanon of all nationalities in various Lebanese regions, to make their wishes come true and provide them with warmth by providing necessities, the most important of which are: Food Parcels Blankets and Mattresses Heating Fuel Winter Clothes Tent Tarpaulins

Long-Term Impact

Blankets, mattresses, heaters, and fuel are among the most important needs that URDA considers as priorities since Lebanon is expected to witness several snowstorms this season. As for the food parcels provided, will feed an entire family (an average of 5 individuals) for a whole month considering the ongoing rise in the prices of food commodities. The tent tarpaulins will be a temporary solution for families who are sheltered in dilapidated tents.
